To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. -Emerson

Sgt Griffith

My husband, Chris, was promoted to Sergeant in the Army this summer. It was an honor to be able to be at his ceremony. I couldn't be more proud of this man. He works hard every single day to be the best that he can be at his job, so it was nice to see him get the recognition for it.
He postponed his 'pinning' ceremony for a month in order to have his mentor and friend, Cory Yates, do the honors. They were deployed together to Iraq last year and became good friends.

Chris's sergeant 'pinning' him.

Standing at attention.

Posing with his certificate.....and Rocky!

The congratulations!

Initiating begins by others taking turns punching you in the chest for good luck.

Sgt Yates couldn't wait for his turn to come around.

Wifey's turn to initiate. This should be good!

He pretended that mine hurt the most =)

"And we're the three best friends that anyone could have."

Makeshift Family

Chris and I would love to have children of our own in the future. However, while we wait for the time to be right in our lives, here is our makeshift family. We used a site I found on the internet that morphs our faces to make a best guess at what our future children would look like. I thought it was fun to play with so I'm sharing it with you. I've posted the link at the bottom of the blog if you'd like to try.

“To understand your parents' love, you must raise children yourself.”
Our future Annabelle Elizabeth.

Our future Liam Matthew.

I wanted to keep these pictures somewhere safe so that when we have children for real, I can compare our results.

To get images made of what your future kids could look like, go to www.MorphThing.com. This site gives you tons of options. Go ahead and check it out!

Love and Marriage.

"...What I can't see is how I'm ever gonna love you more
But I've said that before

And now you're my whole life
now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you
We'll look back someday, at this moment that we're in
And I'll look at you and say
And I thought I loved you then."
