To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. -Emerson

Liam's first beach trip. OBX 3/2

It was girls weekend (+Liam). We left Thursday the 28th of February which was Chris's birthday. I tried to make the day special for him even though his little buddy and I were leaving him for a long weekend. Bridgette and my mom met at my house on Fort Belvoir to make the journey. I drove the Kia down to Corolla Beach near Duck and Currituck in the Outer Banks. We were going to my Aunt Suzanne's beach house there. We woke up early in the morning to go walk on the beach. It was incredibly cold but amazingly beautiful! Oh how I missed the sight! Something in your soul feels free standing on the shore. Anyways... then we went to get bagels at this cute shop called Lighthouse Bagels. Then back to the house for some hang time. We also got to take a fun ride on the beach with Amber, the jeep. Nan babysat Liam. We did dinner out that night at a place called Blue Point in Duck. Next day was spa day and shopping. We got our nails done at Hairotics. I believe it to be the best pedicure on the East Coast! Then JCrew and The French Door to shop. Following with Lunch at the Kill Devil Grill. Back to the house to hang out and nap. Nan watched Liam again while I went to seashell hunt with my Aunt on the beach in the Jeep. Then up and out to dinner with everyone at Tim Buck II. Hot tub and the stars before bed. Up for beach with Liam and then bagels before we hit the road. Liam was done with carseats forever after this weekend though.....Love family time! :)
